We’re Funding Barwon Health To Improve In-Home Care For Patients

Geelong’s Barwon Health have recieved over $425,000 in state government grants which will go towards improving end-of-life care for patients within their own homes.

One grant will support a new Palliative Care at Home model, enabling patients who would otherwise be in hospital to be cared for at home.

An additional grant will support the clinical equipment, including upgrades to the vehicle fleet which is necessary for transporting it.

“We’re pleased that we can now advance some of the innovations we’ve been planning to improve provision of terminal care in patients’ palce of choice, which is often at home”, said Barwon Health’s palliative care program manager Jacqui White.
