Congratulations to the successful project ideas

We’re excited to announce that 237 project ideas from across Victoria will share in $30.2 million in community grant funding through Pick My Project. This includes 20 project ideas from the Barwon region and 8 in Geelong.

The Geelong winners are:

Transition Streets Geelong  Educating residents to live sustainably, thinking globally by acting locally.

Healthy, Happy and Safe Community Spaces  Installation of heating and cooling at Newtown Stadium

Tackling online bullying in secondary schools  To develop Australia’s first evidence based on-line bullying prevention program

Fyans Park PS – Solar Community Hub  Large solar system to be installed for education and community.

Veggie Patch and Fruit Orchard  Building a sustainable veggie garden and planting a fruit orchard at Fyansford Primary School

Thank you to everyone who voted in Pick My Project.

We had an overwhelming response from across Victoria to the many great project ideas that will help make your local community an even better place to live.

Voters can visit the Pick My Project website (pickmyproject.vic.gov.au) to register and select their local community by searching for their street address or suburb, or by dropping a pin on the map.

The Andrews Labor Government funded the $30 million Pick My Project fund in the Victorian Budget 2018/19.

The funding has been divided between the six metropolitan and nine regional partnership areas. Geelong is part of the Barwon region.

Project ideas with the most votes in each area will get the opportunity to enter into a funding agreement for their project, with between $20,000 and $200,000 available for each project idea.

Voting is open until 5pm, Monday 17 September 2018. For more information, visit pickmyproject.vic.gov.au.
